Frr-frr-frreezing!

So all week there has been talk about the weather coming up. Since I don't have a functioning t.v., I was completely uninformed until I logged on to Facebook-which seems to be my only connection to the rest of the world sometimes. The weather was supposed to drop significantly and it was even supposed to snow, someone said...then everyone started posting about the possibility of snow on Wednesday and Thursday.

Well, it's Wednesday, and I usually have my first class at 9:45 so I got out of bed after a ten minute long debate with myself- it was so cold! I was hoping school would be shut down, but I don't think schools can do that unless there's actual snow or something that would prohibit students or professors to get to school, so that was out of the question. After a two minute wardrobe change, I go to the restroom to brush my teeth and am left in the dark all of a sudden. What the heck?! The whole apartment is dark and quiet, until the upstairs people start their stomping routine for the day. Yajaira proceeds to inform me that campus is closed until 10 because they don't have electricity either. Sweet, that gives me an extra fifteen minutes to be in bed or have my quiet time or have coffee, except never mind, there's still no electricity.

At 9:50 I prepared myself mentally for the freezing winds and put on about 3 layers of clothes. My face froze on my way to class, my hands wouldn't stay warm, and my heart longed for my sweet cozy bed that was left behind at the apartment. Nevertheless, I got to school on time only to see an empty classroom. Luckily I went into the building at the same time as a guy and he happened to be in my class. We both carried the confused expression on our faces. Where the heck is everyone? We both sat outside of the class stupidly for about ten minutes until I finally had the guts to leave. I looked in the class again through the window on the door and saw "Dr. Cox's 9:45-10:35 class CANCELLED". There, in big green letters, and I missed it. Furious, I walked out of the building only to get slapped in the face by glacial winds and a sense of stupidity.

So I walked home again. Face froze again. Hands were poorly protected from the wind. But I made it home and am now in my comfy bed and sipping some coffee and life is good.
